Leather Value Chain.   Mr. Sekanyo Joshua, Vice Chairman, Luwero districts informed that we only have one leather tanning factory at Kawumu, to process leather from animal hides and skins on the whole "cattle corridor" with high concentration of livestock, particularly cattle. Key districts within this corridor include; Nakaseke, Luwero, Nakasongola, Kiboga but also Ntungamo, Mbarara, Isingiro, Kiruhura, Lyantonde, Sembabule, and districts in the Teso sub-region; Soroti, Kumi and Katakwi” The district entrepreneur leadership and their districts will be organized under cluster system to access shoe making equipment and the regions will become leather production and industrial hubs containing different factories of shoes, belts, bags, hats, chairs and car seats. Thousands of jobs are going to be created if Entrepreneur leaders take the lead and involved in the industrialization project. Mr. Sekanyo further said, he will offer land where such facility (Shoe Factory) can be built under some agreement.
