The Peoples Manifesto Implementation Technical Team (MIIT) met the subregion delegates coordinated by Rose Nandhego of Jinja city, submitted that the 12 districts in the region engage in production of maize, sugar cane, beans, groundnuts, sweet potato, casava, millet and rice. We agreed that different districts will sit and agree on which products they want to add value and also different processing machinery for value addition will be agree upon in a subregion meeting at the right time. For example; Processing: Maize is transformed into various forms during this stage, such as flour, starch, or animal feeds. Some districts leaders asked for maize flour milling machine, potato chips making machine, cassava flour, tapioca, fufu, garri, and cassava chips. It's also a source of starch used in numerous industrial applications like adhesives, paper and textile sizing, and even in the production of biodegradable plastics and others. The district will explore the different value chain such as; potato value chain, Casava value chain, groundnuts value chain, millet value chain etc.
